Rare Victorian Paisley Shawl Two Piece Set Circa 1930s/1940s
Museum worthy Victorian era fine wool paisley shawl that was re-worked in the 1930s/1940s into a two piece bolero/ skirt set. Incredible attention to detail and craftsmanship was used throughout; cropped bolero jacket with built in shoulder pads in matching fabric, small lapel and hook and eye closure at center front. Skirt has the same fabric wrapped decorative buttons on front with angular seams and side seam zipper with snap/ hook and eye closure for the waistband.
Condition: Amazing for age; small thread bare areas on skirt that are not holes but are shown in photo against sunlight to see, a semi hidden repair on side of skirt as shown that blends well.
