RESERVED RARE 1910s Homespun Gingham Workwear Jumpsuit
Incredible piece of history, 1900-1910s era workwear jumpsuit/ coveralls made of faded indigo homespun gingham fabric with large mother of pearl buttons to attach top bodice to pants. Shows wear and patina throughout beautifully with some fabric repairs. Found in conjunction with the homespun biadue smock from in collection. Due to the nature of the it being hand sewn and the purpose of a biaude smock being for French farmers, I’m unsure if this jumpsuit is of the same nature and a workwear/ farm piece. Regardless, it’s true story, it’s an unbelievably unique and early example of a workwear jumpsuit
* this piece ships fully insured, and is factored into price *
Condition: Good for age; although shows wear/ discoloration fading / some repairs throughout. Some areas are thinner that others on bodice, but this piece is strong enough to wear. As always handle antique pieces carefully
