Early 1940s 'Fleischman's California Dude Duds' Selvedge Denim Western Two Piece
Rare, early example of ladies denim/ workwear. Early 1940s 'Fleischman's California Dude Duds' sanforized selvedge denim ladies two piece western side button suspender split skirt with cropped vest with rope lasso tie at center bust, both trimmed with fringe.
* leather suspender attachments are what currently is on this pieces ad the original ones were dry and unwearable *
This was an early ladies workwear line that was most definitely capitalizing off Levi’s with the phrasing used, which closely resembled the Levi’s line of western- leisure garments called ‘Dude Ranch Duds’ in the mid-late 1930s. This line was for men and women alike, that appealed to the masses who were at the time infatuated with the West and western dressing and the Dude Ranch Vacation.
Condition: The suspender attachments had to be replaced due to dry elastic ( period correct leather ones are now on it.) Overall the set is in incredible shape with no real flaws to note.
