Stunning 1920s-1930s crewelwork linen jacket, handmade in India by 'S.S. Sarna' for export in San Francisco. There is not much info on this label in terms of clothing other than it started out in the 1920s selling handmade goods for export. "From the 1920s-1930s Sajan Singh Sarna moved to the western U.S. to study dairy manufacturing but began importing Indian handicrafts—including brass and textiles—in the 1920s. Due to the Depression, he moved to New York in 1933 and initially sold goods imported from Japan."

Great slightly cropped cut with 3/4 length bell sleeves and patch front pockets, with a stand up collar that can be worn either up or down. The hand embroidered numbers on the inside hem are one of my favorite details.

Condition: Good for age, with small scattered flaws. A few small spots, very faint color bleed in a few areas which doesn't detract as the print is so busy anyways, a repair done inside as shown that doesn't show on the exterior. Presents beautifully for age
