Antique 1900's Edwardian Corduroy Riding Habit Coat

Incredible piece of women's fashion history; Edwardian era, circa 1900's deep chocolate brown corduroy riding habit coat. Found in an 1860's farmhouse at the Kidwell Farm, which is a mulitgenerational agricultural estate. This piece was used for riding horses or bicycles, this piece features the original label by 'Godiva Riding Habits & Skirts, copyright 1908.' Other key features are vegetable ivory buttons up the front as well as internally on the leg loops that would have been fastened around the leg to help coat stay in place while exercising. Split back hem, allowing for ample movement as well, with a monochromatic silk satin lining the entirety of the garment.

Condition: Pristine; was hand washed and is now ready to wear for anther century. On ly thing to note is minor variation in color to lining in a spot or two
