From the collection of local South Bay socialite, Georgiana Alice Drum. The most exquisite garment I have ever had; late 1910s to very early 1920s era aquamarine blue silk floral Lamé strapless gown with elongated (and fully detachable) train. This most definitely has been reworked at some point and would have had another element to the bodice, but as it stands it really is a work of art. Features a silk inner bodice shell with structured inner waistband and fully lined skirt in silk. Press snaps on the center back of skirt and hook and eyes closures on the interior and exterior of bodice. The train has snaps all along the top so this can be fully detachable, and worn as a shawl, or however else you would like. Truly the most special piece I have ever had the pleasure of restoring and presenting in the shop
* This will ship fully insured and that is factored into price*
Condition: Great for age; I had to pattern and sew in a new inner bodice shell from a period correct camisole, small dime sized hole at lower back of lamé dress that has been patched with same fabric. Some tarnishing throughout that flows nicely with the gown, in my opinion. Some original mends where a seam has been added in silk skirt at back hip area. Presents like new for age
